The Supreme Student Government (SSG) of the Bataan National High School (BNHS) led by its president, Francine Iris Lunod organized an activity that will divert the students’ attention from drugs. They call it “Barkada Kontra droga- Mobile Legend (ML) Tournament”, a game that many students love.
To ensure the success of the project, Ms. Lunod solicited the cooperation of the General Parent-Teachers Association (GPTA) and Homeroom Officers. In one of the GPTA meetings, Ms. Lunod explained that they want their peers to stay away from drugs so they came up with an activity where they can focus and put into positive use, their energy and their knowledge on games.
According to Francine, ML is a mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) that features various casts of heroes, quick matchmaking and fast-paced battles that allow for quick game play sessions on the go. She told the parents that instead of their children being influenced by drugs, they will now be busy with the tournament wherein students in grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 will form a team of ten (10) students per grade level.
The teams are elected in three stages; digital logo making; slogan making,
wherein the team will create a slogan promoting anti-drug campaign; and the Mobile Legend tournament where 10 teams will play against each other.
The parents were happy to know the efforts of the student government that will encourage the students to participate in school programs that promote a
healthy and drug-free lifestyle among “Arellanistas”.
The parents are grateful to the following faculty members for guiding the students Mr. Edryll Contreras, Ms. Mila Monta, Mr. Iggy Capili, Ms. Clarence Domingo, and Ms. Mhel Allen Bucu to name a few.
