FLORIDA BLANCA, Pampanga – Amid rescue operations being undertaken by the rescuers of the PDRRMC in some affected areas in Bataan, a total of 23 persons, seven of whom are children are now safe and warm, reunited to their respective families after spending a night at the middle of a storm in a raging river. Thanks to the quick and decisive response of Bataan Governor Abet S. Garcia, the Bataan Air Unit led by its pilot, Capt. John Dexter Valerio braved the bad weather and did a daring rescue operation amid the raging waters of Palacol River in Florida Blanca, Pampanga. All the 23 who were rescued are residents of Pampanga. They were stranded in the raging rivers during the onslaught of Typhoon Luis last night. A concerned citizen posted a plea for help on behalf of these stranded people in Facebook, which the ever generous and warm hearted Gov. Abet picked up and immediately gave instructions for the rescue operation.
