A third-class agricultural town and the site of Mt. Samat Dambana ng Kagitingan in the upland village of Liyang, Pilar would achieve greater income generating revenues with the establishment of Walter Mart complex, about two kilometers away from Bataan Vista Mall in Barangay Cupang, Balanga City.
Mayor Pizarro, whose vision is to make the town of Pilar a historical, cultural and tourism center in Central Luzon by the year 2020, is developing a workable program with Mount Samat Tourism Enterprise Zone which will transfigure one of the country’s most popular war memorial attractions into a booming tourism industry.
Having been involved in several agricultural surveys and evaluations in Bagac and Morong towns, the rich tourism potentials for investments inflow particularly in farm tourism projects and recreational prospects of improving popular resorts in the two coastal towns are yet to be discovered to attract local and foreign visitors.
