BPPO welcomes Sr PPO Eisuke Kamiya of Tokyo

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Bataan Parole and Probation Officers (BPPOs), staff and Volunteer Probation Assistants (VPAs) welcomed Sr PPO Eisuke Kamiya of theTokyo Parole and Probation

Office (PPO) on his study visit in Bataan last February 23.

The Bataan PPO Family headed by Chief Probation Officer Maria Victoria A. Badoy expressed their gratefulness that Bataan is one of the provinces that Sr PPO Kamiya visited.

Balanga City Mayor Francis S. Garcia happily welcomed Kamiya in the City during the courtesy call, where they talked about the support that the City Government extend to the clients of Bataan PPO. CPO Badoy added that even the Mayor’s father, the late Cong. Tet Garcia and his brothers, Gov. abet and Cong. Joet are all highly  supportive of the rehabilitation program of the BPPO.

The group also visited the Bataan World War II (WWII) Museum inside the Balanga City Elementary School where pictures and miniature dioramas that depict what happened during the WWII are displayed.

After the short tour, an actual home visit was conducted to one of the clients of BPPO from Balanga City, to which Sr. PPO Kamiya had this to say: “I see the good relationship among the client, Probation Officers and its VPAs. The relationship is like a family”.  “I can tell looking at your face that you have a positive outlook in life and with the help of your family and the people around you, you will achieve your reformation”, Kamiya added.

Kamiya also had the chance to visit the offices that help and support the Bataan PPO. First was the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Mrs. Marilyn Tigas who incidentally included the clients of Bataan PPO among the recipients of the Pamaskong Handog gift packs of the Provincial Government. Kamiya also visited the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) headed by Atty. Fernando Mendoza who are always ready to share their legal expertise and blessings with the clients.

Kamiya also met some VPAs and Ms. Tina Cundangan from the Rotary Club of Limay who apprised him on how the Rotary Club helps the clients of Bataan PPO through their programs and activities such as: sponsoring a Family Day for five (5) families, donating school supplies for the Lapis at Papel project and providing snacks in the conduct of Annual Sportsfest together with their younger counterpart, the Rotaract of Limay, to which Kamiya expressed his happiness.

A modest lunch was shared by everyone courtesy of the Bataan PPO officers, staff and VPAs.

Before heading to the next PPO, the group went to Bahay Puso to see the Benchmark project and the actual venue where the Therapeutic Community was being held. Kamiya also had the chance to meet and talk with some Lolos and Lolas in the said institution.

In the end, the Bataan PPO officers, staff and VPAs were equally glad for the chance to show Sr PPO Kamiya the beauty of Bataan and its people.
