DENR Bataan conducts maintenance cleanup in Lucanin shore

MARIVELES, Bataan – The DENR Bataan personnel led by PENRO Raul Mamac hauled 76 sacks of trash from the shore of Villa Imperial, Barangay Lucanin, this town, during a maintenance cleanup on Friday in line with the Battle for Manila Bay launched a week ago.
“This is maintenance cleanup, part of the rehabilitation we will be doing in 77.79-kilometer stretch Bataan shores in line with the Battle for Manila Bay”, Mamac pointed out.
During the simultaneous launching last week of the Battle for Manila Bay in Villa Imperial participated by 1,622 volunteers and government workers, 700 sacks of wastes were taken from the Lucanin shore. Another 280 sacks of trash were taken from shore of Brgy. Alangan, Limay, making the total number to 980 sacks of waste hauled from the province.
“We will conduct continuous cleanup of Bataan shores as part of the rehabilitation of the bay”, he said.
Some Lucanin personnel led by Capt. Ludy Funilas also joined the cleanup.
“We will conduct shore cleanup in Lucanin proper next week”, the PENRO said.
The Battle for Manila Bay is a 7-year program of the Duterte Administration to sustainably clean and rehabilitate the Manila Bay. The DENR under the leadership of Sec. Roy Cimatu is the lead agency.
