Divine Mercy Corporate in Bataan

 PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, City of Balanga – A special devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy began spreading throughout the world in the 1930s, based on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy.

   The message is nothing new, but a reminder of what the Church has always taught through scripture and tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. Nowadays, the Divine Mercy devotion takes on a powerful new focus, calling people to a deeper understanding that God’s love is unlimited and available to everyone — especially the greatest sinners.

   The message of mercy is that God loves us, all of us, no matter how great our sins, and He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon

   Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy. It is a message we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC. Ask for His Mercy, Be merciful and Completely trust in Jesus.

   Aimed at spreading this devotion here in the province, last September 3, The Friends of the Divine Mercy Bataan started the Divine Mercy Corporate wherein the image of the Divine Mercy would be brought from one office to another for a month. Coming from the Balanga City Hall, the image was transferred here at the lobby of the Provincial Capitol building, last October 5 where it will stay until November 7.

   Fr. Noel Nuguid, Spiritual Director of the Divine Mercy Church, Balanga officiated the mass;

   Sis. Dina Balicanot, one of the elders of the Divine Mercy Community and Sis. Jennifer Palmera, coordinator in Bataan and Divine Mercy Builder talked about the Divine Mercy devotion. From here, the image will be transferred to the Camp Tolentino and then to the Provincial Jail and later on to other offices who will be willing to accommodate the image and then to other municipalities.
