DTI-Bataan holds Marketing Intelligence Seminar

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Marketing intelligence is an everyday information relevant to a company’s market, gathered and analyzed specifically for the purpose of accurate and confident decision making in determining market opportunity, market penetration strategy and market development metrics, this according to Ms. Nora Reclosado, DTI Bataan Division Chief, is the very purpose of their SME roving academy seminar held yesterday at Plaza Hotel this city.

Around 50 participants from the business sector and cooperatives attended the seminar with their expectation to gain information about market demands, competitor products, internal and external sources about a target group of consumers and other information in a particular market will be answered.

True enough, the very competent motivational speaker, Mr. Dennis Orlina, President of Asean Promotion and Development Association of the Philippines, in his explanation said that marketing intelligence includes procedures and data sources obtained from information from the business environment can be used in decision making.

Ms. Reclosado added that another type of marketing intelligence is competitive information, especially now with the onset of the social media, wherein business owners can use reports, articles, newsletters and other information to study their competitors, investment, organizational strategies, various features and technologies to determine the type of customers they have.

In the seminar, the resource speaker also injected among the audience the need to create profiles of typical customer, their average age, income, education, and what they typically spend per visit in one store.

It was an important point in the seminar that a company usually uses Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threats (SWOT) to identify various opportunities in the marketplace.

The seminar as a whole, according to Ms. Reclosado will help our business partners to have functional intelligence tools, which automate the processing of data into information, regularly delivering the intelligence output to users which makes them an entire marketing program.
