Free seedlings, anyone?

PILAR, Bataan – In consonance to one of the initiatives of the Provincial Government of Bataan, that is environmental protection, the province, led by no less than Governor Abet Garcia and spearheaded by the PG-ENRO, launched the 1 Million Trees for 1 Bataan (1M41B) program last September 2018.
Yesterday, January 15, in simple ceremonies, the Provincial Plant Nursery and Multi-Purpose Bunkhouse at Barangay Pantingan, in this town was inaugurated, the purpose of which is to have a place for the plants or tree seedlings for the greening program of the provincial government. Some of the plant species/seedlings housed at the nursery are the Falcata plant – from Mindanao, used for the production of plywood, paper, and animal food, Rambutan, Kasuy, Cacao, Coffee, Calamansi, Mahogany, Eucalyptus, Narra, Molave, various ornamental plants, Foxtail palm, to name a few.
According to Ms. Fraulein Perpedia of the PG – ENRO, also housed in the nursery are the ornamental plants purchased by the provincial government that will be used in the beautification of the Roman Expressway, once all the improvements are done.
Ms. Perpedia also said that individuals or organizations who want to participate in the 1M41B or any tree planting activity, may avail of seedlings for free from the said plant nursery.
All they have to do is to send a request letter addressed to the Head of the PG-ENRO, stating the purpose. Then, a staff from the PG-ENRO will survey the tree planting site if it is suitable for planting, what type and how many seedlings will be given.
The 1M41B tree planting program is EXTENDED until September 2019! For more information, please visit www.bataan.gov.ph/1M41B, or the official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/1m41b).
