Ice plant with cold storage, 1st in Mariveles

MARIVELES, Bataan. – “This is not just for the people of Batangas II of this town’, other nearby municipalities can also benefit from this”. These were the words of Batangas II Punong Barangay Villapando during this morning’s inauguration and turn over of the Ice Plant with Cold Storage located at the Kaizen Mulitipurpose Cooperative compound.
Governor Abet Garcia led the ribbon cutting together with Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, Provincial Agriculturist OIC Engr. Johanna Dizon, Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Officer III and Philippine Rural Development Project (PDRP) Project Support Office Head Roy Abaya, Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) Engr. Alexander Baluyot, Kaizen MultiPurpose Cooperative Chairwoman Dolores Magpantay and other barangay officials of Batangas II.
Mayor Concepcion said that it is such an honor to finally have the Ice Plant with Cold Storage fully operational for the benefit of different fishermen in their area. He also mentioned that it is the first Ice Plant within the Municipality of Mariveles that’s why they are looking forward to have more beneficiaries of this project.
“The income of this plant is not just for the Kaizen Cooperative, not just for the fishermen, but for all the people in the Province of Bataan. Through this project, a lot of job opportunity await each Bataeno,” said Governor Garcia in his message to the people involved in the project.
Kaizen Multipurpose Cooperative Chairwoman Magpantay expressed her gratitude by thanking everyone who helped them for making this project possible. She also emphasized that they will take good care of it and will make the lives of fishermen better than before.
