Orani brings SGLG program to the barangay level

ORANI, Bataan – Inspired by winning the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awards for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, the municipal government of Orani is implementing the said program in the barangay level.
This is the first time that the SGLG program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is being implemented in the barangal level. SGLG symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments.
Orani Vice Mayor Godofredo Galicia, Jr. said Mayor Efren Pascual, Jr. and the Sangguniang Bayan discussed the program with Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia and Congresswoman Geraldine Roman.
Roman appropriated P5 million, Garcia, P3 million, and the municipal government, P2 million. The total P10 million shall be divided among the three winning barangays of the SGLG program. The prize will be given on the occasion of Orani Day in April.
“This is our own way of maximizing effort in the remaining one-half year of our term,” said Galicia.
Assessment of the barangay SGLG include financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness, and environmental management.
