“Lalaya na sa kawalan ng tahanan ang ilang mahihirap nating kababayan dito sa bayan ng Orani (Some of our constituents here in Orani will now be free from the bondage of homelessness),” Mayor Serrano said during his short speech.
Vice Mayor Bong Galicia told this reporter that around 120 families will benefit from this project in cooperation with the National Housing Authority.
The newly-renovated Orani Public Market was also inaugurated by the local officials. A big tarpaulin billboard was also posted in front of the market with messages of gratitude to Bataan Governor Albert Raymond Garcia and Second District Congressman Enrique Garcia, Jr.
Meanwhile, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) is set to form the provincial housing board to address the reportedly increasing number of informal settlers in the Province particularly in the progressive and industrial towns of Mariveles, Limay and Balanga City.
