Pres. Duterte to PVAO: “Fast track release of P6.4B benefits for veterans”

MT. SAMAT, Bataan – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered yesterday the Phil. Veterans Affairs Office to fast track the release of P6.4 billion benefits for war veterans.

In his speech during yesterday’s 75th Araw ng Kagitingan rites held atop of Mt Samat, the president also directed the Dept. of Budget and Management and the Dept. of National Defense to expedite the release of the retirees’ pension and other benefits intended for the veterans. “Without them (war veterans) we are not here today, utang natin ang buhay natin sa kanila,” the president added.

Duterte also reiterated his campaign against drugs, violent terrorism, and transnational crimes.
For his part, Gov. Abet S. Garcia said in his welcome remarks that “we should be ready for any challenge in the future.” In citing the antidrug campaign of the administration, he mentioned that we are witnesses of the change, “the people are now safe from drugs and criminality.”

Garcia also cited that Bataan is the first drug free province in the country.
