PVO leads info campaign for LGU partners, dog owners

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In compliance to Provincial Ordinance No. 4 Series of 2015 regarding animal regulation and rabies control and eradication, the Provincial Veterinarian Office conducted an information campaign for LGU owners and dog owners today, September 26, 2017, at Tuyo Elementary School, this city.

Provincial Ordinance No. 4 Series of 2015 is an ordinance providing for a comprehensive animal regulation and rabies control and eradication in Bataan province, providing penalties for violations thereof, and appropriating the necessary funds for the purpose. With this, the PVO gives much effort on spreading awareness about rabies and animal regulation throughout the province.

Dr. Albert Venturina (Provincial Veterinarian), Ms. Violeta Mena (TES Principal), Ms. Dolores Gara (Rabies Coordinator), Ms. Bernadette Manahan (Provincial Rabies Program Coordinator, Human side), Dr. Agatha Pauline Cleto (Provincial Rabies Coordinator, Animal side), and Dr. Maria  Belina Ibasco (DOH Bataan) graced the event. Barangay officials and residents, 4Ps members, and other concerned individuals participated in the program.

Topics that were discussed are animal rabies status, regional rabies program updates, Bataan rabies status, and basic information about rabies. An open forum was also held for the participants to have a clearer view about the matter.
