The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) presided by Vice Gov. Cris Garcia authorized Gov. Albert Garcia to enter into an agreement with the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities Center (CAI-ASIA) for the implementation of the “pathways for clean air and clean energy project”. The provincial board unanimously passed the resolution authorizing the governor to sign the memorandum of agreement with CAI-ASIA during its regular session on Monday at SP Hall, The Bunker, capitol compound.
The project is a Clean Air Asia program, which supports air pollution and greenhouse gas management of emission sources with focus on coal-fired power plants through the development of knowledge based on air quality and climate change and science-based policy guidelines, said Board Member Iya Roque, chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources who authored the resolution.
