SSS offers reprieve to members with past due loans

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Good news to all Social Security System (SSS) members! “If you have ‘unpaid monthly contributions’ for this year 2018, then there is a chance for you to pay for it this year”. That was announced by Atty. Manuel F. Dooc – President and Chief Executive Officer of SSS during the SSS Media Forum held yesterday, November 13, at Pipinganan Capampangan Restaurant and Function Hall, in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The “2018 Flexible Payment Program” was created to give chance to SSS members to have a good membership status and to be able to avail more services of SSS like Loans (Salary, Calamity, Emergency, Educational, etc.) and more.

All they have to do is just go to the nearest SSS Branch and inform the personnel at the customer service area that you will pay for your unpaid 2018 monthly contributions, and they will give you additional instructions.

Atty. Dooc added that the “Loan Restructuring Program” (LRP) of SSS is extended until April 1, 2019. The LRP aims to provide reprieve for members with past due calamity loans and other short-term member loan residing and working on calamity/disaster-stricken area.

Under the LRP, member-borrowers can settle past due loans through flexible payment terms up to five years with a low-interest rate of 3 % per annum.
