BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Still reeling in awe and disbelief over this achievement, Ms. Blessilda Grace Tigas, Teacher III, Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School (OLLES) in her usual bubbly and cheerful disposition has so many people to thank, next to God.
Teacher Blessie, as she is fondly called by her pupils, colleagues and parents joined four other awardees yesterday at the DepEd Regional Office 3 in San Fernando, Pampanga for the 2017 SEARCH FOR BEST KINDERGARTEN EDUCATION TEACHER IMPLEMENTERS.
Aimed at promoting recognition, respect and appreciation to the best teacher implementers of the Kindergarten Education Program, the search also aspires to intensify priority support for quality-assured kindergarten services as commitment for sustainable development goals and targets.
Contenders for the award underwent assessment and evaluation comprised of document review, validation and demonstration teaching, with the following criteria: Outstanding accomplishment (25pts), Education and training (20pts.), Classroom structuring and development (25pts), and Demonstration teaching (30pts). Only the top 5 ranks after the document review in the regional level search underwent the on-site validation. Last December 8, Dr. Angel Burayag, Regional EPS led the validating team at the OLLES.
Dr. Ellen C. Macaraeg, Education Program Supervisor 1, Kindergarten Schools, City of Balanga and Mr. Alejandro Icban, Principal II, Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School joined Tigas during the awarding ceremonies.
