TESDA offers scholarship for PWDs

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) now offers scholarship program for persons with disabilities.
Sierra Flores, technical education and skills development specialist III, disclosed that TESDA offers four scholarship programs: special training for employment program (STEP), private education student financial assistance (Pesfa), and universal access to quality tertiary education act (UAQTEA) and training for work scholarship (TWSP).
She said presently, only UAQTEA is available and is only offered by the following training institutions namely: Bataan Peninsula State University in Balanga and Abucay campuses, Provincial Training Center in Orion town, and Regional Training Center in Mariveles town.
Flores who is also the Provincial Council On Disability Affairs representative, explained that under the UAQTEA program, aside from the free training cost and assessment fees, trainees will be provided daily allowance worth P160, book allowance, free uniforms and insurance.
