The Municipal Government of Hermosa distributed ₱10,000 cash gifts on Wednesday to 62 octogenarian and nonagenarian beneficiaries under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Cash Gift Benefits for Octogenarians, Nonagenarians, and Centenarians Act.
Mayor Anne Inton along with other officials led the distribution ceremony, recognizing senior citizens who have reached the ages of 80 to 99. The cash assistance forms part of the national government’s program to honor elderly Filipinos for their longevity and contributions to society.
Municipal leaders expressed delight at seeing the beneficiaries remain active, healthy, and engaged in their families and communities. They noted that the recognition serves as a tribute to the valuable role senior citizens continue to play in shaping society.
The recipients, accompanied by their families, received their cash gifts during the event. Officials said the program reflects the government’s commitment to promoting the welfare and dignity of older persons.
Republic Act No. 11982 expanded the benefits previously granted only to centenarians, allowing octogenarians and nonagenarians to receive government cash incentives as a form of recognition and support.
The local government extended its congratulations to all beneficiaries and wished them continued good health, happiness, and more years with their loved ones.
