Mayor-elect Alexander “Alex” Acuzar recently shared his preparations as the new mayor of Samal, Bataan in a recent online interview with the Central Luzon Regional team of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA-Central Luzon).

During the virtual interview, Acuzar mentioned that his administration will give priority to intensifying health programs specifically for those living in the highlands or upland villages (barangays).

He added that doctors and health workers from his town’s rural health units will regularly visit upland residents so that those who want to seek treatment do not have to go to town hall to seek assistance.

He also targets all remote barangays to have their own ambulances to provide quick medical attention to those in need.

Acuzar, grandson of the famous builder of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar and other notable construction projects- Mr. Jose “Jerry” Acuzar, added that they are currently collecting data to determine who are the residents of each barangay who need maintenance medicines so that the local government will provide them according to their needs.

He added that the Samal LGU will also push for the intensification of the advocacy and awareness drive so that more Samaleños can be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
