The City Government of Balanga is quite optimistic of realizing more or less P100 million from business tax, mayor’s permit and other fees from various commercial establishments.

Joselito Evangelista, Balanga City treasurer, said in a text message: “Positive kami na ma-attain namin ang target na P100 milyon sa business tax pa lang yan.” He said collection from real property tax may reach around P112 million.

Evangelista said that owing to pandemic situation in the country the city treasurer’s office will extend the payment of business tax to February 28, 2022 instead of January 31, 2022. Last day of payment for real property tax will likewise be extended to March 31, 2022.

Also because of present health protocols in the city, Evangelista encouraged the tax payers to make their payment through G-Cash, PayMaya and bank transfer. “This is to avoid overcrowding at the city hall counters,” he said.

Earlier, Evangelista said the annual income of Balanga City may reach more than P1 billion which was also the estimate of City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia about two years ago.
