A world class toilet comparable to other Asian countries? Why not.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan (provincial board) Committee on Tourism chaired by Board Member Romano del Rosario is drafting an ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Setting Standards for Regulating Toilets/Comfort Rooms in Hot Spots and in Tourism Related Establishments.”
Board Member del Rosario who drafted said ordinance said “I would like to seek any comments, suggestions and additional inputs especially in the penalty provision.”
“And this will still be approved by our Vice Gov. Cris Garcia. We are still in the process of listing down amenities and other concerns brought out by the provincial engineers office,” he said.
According to the board member from Bagac, the proposed toilet will be patterned to public toilet standards in Asian countries where automation plays a vital role more particularly during this time of pandemic.
“We will be more particular in ensuring that public toilet surfaces should be all dry and free from dirt,” Del Rosario explained.
The committee is also toying with the idea of doing away with penalties. “Tinitingnan po namin ito dahil instead of penalties dapat itulong na lang sa pagpapagawa ng mga maliliit na establishments,” he added.
