More than 1,100 tricycle drivers from transport groups in Abucay and Samal received fuel subsidies as part of the national government’s assistance program, according to Bataan 1st District Rep. Tony Roman.
Roman said his office joined local government units in distributing the subsidy funded under the initiative of President Bongbong Marcos to help ease the burden of rising fuel prices on public utility drivers.
A total of 740 beneficiaries from Abucay and 427 from Samal received financial assistance during the payout.
The lawmaker said that the fuel subsidy program is part of ongoing efforts to cushion the impact of increasing oil prices, particularly on small transport operators who rely on daily earnings.
