In his message during the launch of the Sangguniang Kabataan Youth Profiling Project at The Bunker yesterday, June 21 Governor Abet Garcia highlighted the developments that will happen in the province and the opportunities it will bring especially in job generation.
“Yung pagluwas sa Maynila o pagpunta sa ibang bansa, magiging option na lang pero option na rin na may magandang kinabukasan at oportunidad dito sa lalawigan ng Bataan,” Gov. Garcia said.
SK youth profiling aims to gather demographic data of Bataan residents, ages 15-30, as mandated by the SK Reform Act of 2015 Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR) Rule 2, Section 8 in order to create data-driven programs, projects, and legislation.
Aligning the program to the province’s vision of attaining the highest Human Development Index (HDI) in the Philippines, the Bataan Youth Development Office added questionnaires that would specifically distinguish the needs of youth in terms of health, education, and economic development.
Garcia took the opportunity to thank the Provincial SK Federation headed by Board Member Precious Manuel, Bataan Youth Development Council headed by Mr. Meynard Reyes, newly-appointed DILG Provincial Director Belina Rona Herman, and the Youth Profiling Team for their efforts in delivering a better public service.
The Governor also encouraged the youth sector in Bataan to support the program as this will assist the government to respond to the needs of the ‘future leaders’ of this province.
