The local Department of Trade and Industry office is hopeful more business registrations will come this year 2023 compared to last year’s.
Tess Magtanong, information officer of DTI Bataan, said: “As of January 18, a total of 1,014 business name registrations (BNRs) have been issued provincewide of which 775 are new businesses while 259 clients renewed their business names.”
Ms. Magtanong attributed the increase to greater ease from the pandemic restrictions.
“Siguro po dahil back to normal na tayo at nag i-start na ang ating mga kababayan sa pagpundar ng maliit na negosyo,” she said.
As per records from various “Negosyo Centers” in Bataan, on top of the list of applicants are sari-sari (variety) stores, and trading.
On the national level, the DTI described 2022 as a “record-breaking year,” registering a total of 932,097 new and existing business names, a notable increase compared to 2021’s 867,647 and 2020’s 916,164.
