“Karapatan at Pribilehiyo ng Maykapansanan: Isakatuparan at Ipaglaban!”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office celebrated the 39^th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week today, July 14, 2017, at Lou-Is Resort and Restaurant, this city.

With the theme “Karapatan at Pribilehiyo ng Maykapansanan: Isakatuparan at Ipaglaban!”, PWDs from all over the province participated in the event. The first part of the event included a motorcade, picture taking per municipality, and booth visitation. Booths that were present were Free Massage (TESDA), IEC Materials (OPA & PG-ENRO), Accident Insurance, Free Blood Typing, Blood Pressure & First Aid (Phil. Red Cross), IEC Materials on Education (DepED & BPSU), IEC Materials on Business Opportunities (DTI), and PIA-ASEAN Information Kiosk.

Part two of the event included the acknowledgment of participants from Ms. Marites Madla and Mr. Florencio Fajardo (Officers – SATAMAKABA CBR, Inc.), welcome remarks from Ms. Marilyn Tigas (PSWDO/PCDA Vice-Chair & Secretariat), inspirational messages from Hon. Albert Garcia (Provincial Governor/PCDA Chairman), Hon. Ma. Cristina Garcia (Vice Governor), Mr. Armont Pecina (DSWD OIC – Division Chief, Operations & Programs/Protective Services Unit), and Hon. Dexter Dominguez (SP Board Member – Chairman of Committee on Social Welfare & Development), and a brief orientation on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) from Mr. Armel Sy (Potters Hand Therapy Center).

After the break, they proceeded to the contest proper on the cultural dance competition of each municipality. The members of the board of judges were representatives from DepEd, BPSU, Red Cross, Rotary Club, and TESDA.
