Dinalupihan Mayor German “Tong” Santos Jr. on Friday said that the Local Government of Dinalupihan has allotted P6 million cash gift to senior citizens who will reach the age of 80.

The good news was revealed during the town’s Senior Citizens Quarterly Assembly composed of birthday celebrants from January to March this year held at the Dinalupihan Civic Center organized by Dinalupihan MSWDO headed by Ms. Ofel Mendoza.

The two-day event was attended by almost 2000 senior citizens from 46 barangays of Dinalupihan.

The event was graced by local officials led by Mayor Santos and municipal council members led by Vice Mayor Fer Manalili.

Bataan 3rd District Rep. Gila Garcia and Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay also participated and brought cash and gifts for the raffle prizes.

The assembly provided a platform for senior citizens to come together, interact with each other, and share their talents and experiences.

The gathering also gave them an opportunity to voice their concerns and needs to the local government officials.

“Masaya ko pong ibinabalita na next month lahat po ng 80 years old hanggang 89 ay makakatanggap po ng P5,000,” Mayor Santos announced during his five minute-greeting/speech to the celebrants.

They will be given a one-time financial assistance of 5,000 pesos that aims to provide additional support to senior citizens who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of the community.

Mayor Santos’ announcement was welcomed with applause and appreciation from the attendees.

The financial assistance will be a great help to the seniors especially those who are facing financial challenges in their daily lives.

The assembly also highlighted the importance of taking care of senior citizens, who are often vulnerable and in need of support.

Dinalupihan currently has more than 12,000 senior citizens.

“Kung makahahanap at magkaroon po tayo ng karagdagan pang pondo ay sisikapin po nating mabigyan ang mga makakareach ng edad na 90, 70, or even 60, bukod pa sa ibinibigay ng DSWD na P100,000 sa mga centenarians,” Mayor Tong added during an ambush interview with the local media.
