PGB awards 41 barangays

The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) awarded 41 barangays who qualified for the 1Bataan Seal of Healthy Barangay Challenge, for the months of October, November and December 2019 in simple ceremonies held at the Crown Royale Hotel, March 3.

Aimed at improving the life expectancy of every Bataeño, the 1Bataan Seal for Healthy Barangay is an incentive based program wherein 50,000 pesos is awarded every month to every barangay who can comply to the following criteria: 0% cases in dengue, animal bite, maternal and infant deaths, non-communicable diseases, drug cases and lower mortality count, 100% efficiency in immunization/vaccination, voluntary blood donation, and compliance to the 1Million Trees for 1Bataan (1M41B) Challenge which encourages every person in the barangay to plant at least 10 trees.

A total of 81 checks worth 50,000 pesos each and a certificate of recognition were received by the concerned punong barangays together with their respective mayors, and Municipal Health Officers.
According to PHO Head Dra. Rosanna Buccahan, some of the awardees were awarded for the first time but a consistent awardee since July is Barangay Wakas South of Pilar.
