The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ng Bataan presided by Vice Governor Cris Garcia, in their last regular session concurred Ordinance No. 15 series of 2022, Establishing a Teen Information Center (TIC) for every barangay in the 19 barangays in the Municipality of Pilar, authored by Councilor Margie Lacsina, Chairman of the Committee on Youth.
Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro said he recognizes that adolescents need special intervention or programs to address concerns particularly those affecting their health including their sexuality and reproductive health with issues on the increasing number of teenage pregnancies, illegal drugs, incidence of sexual harassment and others.
Vice Governor Cris Garcia, on the other hand, said the Ordinance shall establish adequate, effective, responsive and enabling mechanism and support system that will ensure the meaningful participation of the youth in nation building and in local governance.
Vice Governor Garcia added that the ordinance will also provide link on information and service delivery intervention for adolescent health needs as well as foster partnership in a well-coordinated multi-sectoral and comprehensive provision of health and develop interventions.
