The Bataan Association of Rabbit Meat Producers and Processors (BARMPP) composed of about 200 raisers was recently organized to boost the industry in the province. “We help them to be organized and the University will conduct research study on rabbit production”, said BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia “We will help them develop rabbit meat lechon and ham and find markets, too”, he also said.
Paguia added that the Provincial Veterinary Office will be a partner of BPSU in the rabbit meat product development. The Department of Agriculture supports the production and distribution of rabbit for meat consumption and livelihood. Rabbit meat is rich in highly-quality proteins, lean and low in cholesterol.
