Bataan to adopt South Korean waste to energy plant concept

BALANGA CITY – The provincial government of Bataan is eyeing a new concept of disposing garbage after seriously evaluating the performances of environment –friendly South Korean technology to solve the waste problem while doing away with the costly sanitary landfill project .
Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia headed the four-man delegation to observe the thriving operations of four waste to energy facilities in South Korea last week.
Garcia said the new trend in garbage technology being propagated by the Korean technocrats is to do away with the more costly landfill project and instead go for a cheaper and safer know-how in disposing waste by turning them into pellets that would in turn be used as fuel for power plant.
