FREEPORT AREA OF BATAAN—-A classy hotel, The Oriental Bataan, will soon be built inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Mariveles. The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) and the LKY Group, the developer of the hotel, are already scheduling the ground breaking ceremony of the project. The abandoned four-storey Hilltop Hotel will be rehabilitated to become The Oriental Bataan.
The hotel is part of the P300 million leisure hub that will rise in the 489,170.9 square meter property inside FAB following the agreement between AFAB and developer LKY Group.

MARIVELES, Bataan—An expert in standards for training, certification, and watch keeping for seafarers conducted a two-week seminar for the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) staff and representatives of other concerned government agencies, according to an official of the Maritime Academy of the Asia and the Pacific (MAAP).
MAAP External Relations Director Angelica Baylon said Capt. Fazlur Rahman Chowdhurry, Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute (AFNI) conducted the seminar-workshop on the amended International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) of 1978. BALANGA CITY—- Credit Surety Fund (CSF), a program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), is set to be formally launched in Bataan. The launching is scheduled on May 20 at Louis Resort and Restaurant, this City.
BSP Program Manager Ellen Ramos said the CSF program is a credit enhancement scheme developed by the BSP, which aims to increase the creditworthiness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and even individuals who are members of cooperatives experiencing difficulty in obtaining loans from banks due to lack of acceptable collateral, credit knowledge, and credit track records.

Jonathan Lacayanga, and Engr Walter Valdez, imparted to Yolanda-ravaged communities in the provinces of Samar, Leyte, Iloilo, and Antique knowledge on climate change, organic farming, and aerobic rice technology.
