Gov Abet , Mayor Joet sign Pledge of Commitment

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Totally committed to eradicating the menace of drug addiction among their constituents, Bataan Governor Albert S. Garcia and City of Balanga Mayor, Jose Enrique S. Garcia III in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) jointly held an Anti-Drug Summit at the Lou-Is  Restaurant, this City.

The holding of this joint Summit, is the local government executives’ way of contributing to the PDEA vision of a drug-free Philippines, as well as to underscore the utmost dedication and unrelenting commitment of the local police force in the fight against illegal drugs in the entire Province.

GMCP now fully operational

MARIVELES, Bataan-  Residents in the Province will again enjoy low electricity rates, actually one of the lowest in the country  after the GN Power Mariveles Coal Plant (GMCP) has gone back to its normal operations, producing 600 megawatts.

Engr. Loreto Marcelino, General Manager of Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO), distributor of electricity in the Province, said that bills for the last two billing periods had been lowered by a total of 1.2458 per kilowatt hour, making Bataan one of the provinces with the lowest electricity rates in the country.  

Day care workers undergo training on New Teaching Methods

In compliance to RA 8980 also known as the “Early Childhood Care and Development Act”, the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office (PSWDO) in partnership with the Bataan Child Empowerment Council (BCEC), a non-stock, non-profit organization that promotes the survival,  development, participation and protection rights of a child; has beenproviding trainings on Current Learning Approaches to appropriately contribute to the psychosocial and cognitive development of children ages 3-4 through the Capacity Building Program for the Day Care Service Providers of the 11 municipalities and 1 city, provincewide.

Bataan and Aklan top in DoF’s nationwide local income generation

The provinces of Aklan and Bataan landed first and second places respectively out of the 80 provinces nationwide in the Department of Finance’s [DoF] local revenue generation for year 2013.

According to the DOF, the province of Aklan garnered 45.3% making it to the top in terms of locally sourced income (LSI) share to the annual regular income (ARI). Bataan landed second with 31.0%, while Southern Leyte and Rizal, placed third (28.0 %) and fourth (26.6%) respectively. The troubled Sulu province was the lowest in terms of LSI with just a mere 0.1 percent.
