BACCII elects new president

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – The Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (BACCII) officials and members led by their president Amanda Battad recently had their elections of new officers and voted for businessman Rodolfo “Joey” Diaz as their new president. Battad will be promoted to her new position as chairman of the chamber’s board of directors.

Joey Diaz is the group manager of Caritas Health Shield Inc. and a member of Bataan Host Lions Club. He is also an independent candidate for city councilor of Balanga City for the 2016 local elections.

One of Battad’s major accomplishments was the forming of local chapters of BACCII in all the municipalities of Bataan which initially started in Dinalupihan town this year. “We are promoting the advantages of being a member. We want to help and assist the local entrepreneurs and provide business opportunities for our members,” Battad told 1Bataan.com.

Also under Battad’s reign as the chamber’s president, through partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), about 10 Shared Service Facilities or SSF’s were established in the province reportedly amounting to P15 million. More than 1,500 processors engaged in the manufacture of bamboo products, coffee, processed food, bags, and organic fertilizer are expected to benefit from the new program in eleven towns and this component city of the Bataan peninsula.

Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 25, 1991 BACCII is a voluntary organization representing the business community, uniting the efforts of business and professional individuals to ensure a healthy social and economic base to benefit the entire community.
