BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The existence of all-weather-type roads, historical sites and nature parks, well-maintained beach resorts and other first-class facilities in the coastal town of Bagac is a big boost to the province’s tourism industry.
Nick Ancheta, Bagac municipal administrator, said Mayor Rommel del Rosario and the town’s tourism council have been readying a comprehensive plan to improve further the present amenities for the expected influx of visitors this coming summer vacation.
Ancheta said Mayor Del Rosario is anticipating that the rehabilitation of Bagac-Mariveles road and the construction of a by-pass road to Saysain as both critical conduits which are geared toward the development of upland agricultural areas into a rich source of fruits and vegetables in the province.
Aside from agricultural benefits for thousands of farmers, the presence of adequate infrastructure road network will give easier access to more than 20 beach resorts, popular destinations for local tourists in Central Luzon and Metro Manila; Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, globally-popular heritage resort; Bell tower built by Japanese religious sect and other undiscovered nature’s parks in the Bataan mountain ranges, Ancheta explained.
He added that the two road projects not only to focus on tourism industry but to accelerate the progress of upland communities with vast potentials for agricultural livelihood and cottage industries.
