CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Bataan League of Civil Registrars (BLCR) in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Office conducted Civil Registration Training with Stakeholders in celebration of the Civil Registration Month (February) at the PSA Bataan conference room last February 18, 2016.
The theme of this year’s civil registration month is “Makiisa… Makisali sa Dekadang CRVS”, (Civil Registration and Vital Statistics) which is in line with the objectives of the CRVS Decade to “Get Everyone in the Picture”.
Statistician Francisco P. Corpuz welcomed the participants to PSA Bataan for the day’s activity, while BLCR President and Balanga City Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Marilyn C. Cruz delivered a message of appreciation to all the participants for responding to the invitation.
MCR Cruz started the training proper with a lecture on Birth. The discussion also dealt with Name, Birth Order, and Legitimacy, which are the items that concern the stakeholders. MCR Josefina E. Cortez of Samal tackled Marriage on the next part, which gave a better picture on the legitimacy of children. MCR Edgardo C. Ventura gave the last lecture on Death.
The training was participated in by different agencies such as the Social Security System – Balanga, represented by CEO II Janetthe J. Bunsoy JRMSR Maridel G. De Vera provided significant inputs in clarifying the items that they require from members.
This training highlights this year’s list of activities, apart from the Civil Registration Month activities each MCR holds in his/her respective municipality. Earlier, the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Limay conducted series of information dissemination in schools while the LCRO of Samal made rounds of mobile registration activities as part of Dalaw Barangay.
BLCR is the official organization of the local civil registrars in the province.
