PILAR, Bataan – In keeping with its mandate, that is to protect the welfare of the children, the Municipal Council for the Welfare of Children of Pilar, chaired by Mayor Alice Pizarro sponsored a symposium with the theme “Making the Right Choice” with no less than world renowned inspirational and motivational speaker Mr. Francis Kong as the guest speaker.

Held at the Pilar Government Center in Brgy. Alauli this morning, Mr. Kong spoke to more than five hundred high school students, parents, out of school youths, government employees and town leaders regarding the choices we make in our lives.

A seasoned, versatile and charismatic speaker, Mr. Kong was able to capture and sustain the interest of his audience from the moment he stood up on stage till his last word. The audience, young and old alike, were in awe especially when he talked about the things that we cannot fake: money, strength and knowledge; as well as the three types of people: namely the winners, the losers and the whatever major losers.

By and large, these youths will go home with a better perspective of what life is all about and how their choices affect their future.

According to Councilor Fati Enriquez, last February 26, 2015, Mr. Kong also graced a similar event upon the invitation of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children of Pilar and said activity also gained positive results.

Said initiative is just one of the many child welfare programs in line with the Council’s desire to elevate its current status from Ideal to Mature in terms of functionality.
