Balanga City’s outstanding citizens feted

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The city government awarded 10 of its citizens for their contributions to the community.

Mayor Joet Garcia led the presentation of the Dangal Balangueño 2016 award in a ceremony held at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga. Among the awardees were six men and four women, who excelled in their respective fields and continue to bring reforms in the society.

This year’s awardees are Victor Quezon (business), Rogelio De Leon (fishing), Antonio Salazar (agri business), Henry Bangco (government service), Zenaida Sanchez (medicine), Mercedes Sanchez (education), Rodolfo Gatdula (law), Maria Teresa Robles (community development), Emmanuel Pineda (public service), and Adelaida Nuestro (women empowerment).

Moreover, the clueless city mayor had the surprise of his life when he was called to receive an award. The Multi-Sectoral Governance Coalition agreed to include the last-term mayor for his immense contribution in the progress of the city during the past nine years.

It was Garcia who hatched the Dangal Balangueño Award in the city, an annual activity intended to give due recognition to outstanding citizens who have rendered exemplary performance and dedication in their respective fields.
