First evacuation center/ multi-purpose hall rises in Dinalupihan

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – With more rains and floods expected to be brought by the impending

La Nina weather phenomenon this year, the municipal government of Dinalupihan inaugurated its first evacuation center/multi-purpose hall located at one of the high grounds of this first-class town to serve the needs of its constituents. 

 

Dinalupihan Mayor Maria Angela S. Garcia, Vice-Mayor Reynato Matawaran and municipal council members led the formal inauguration rites.

 

Punong Barangays (village chiefs) also joined the occasion together with Marilyn Tigas of the Bataan Provincial Social Welfare Development Office, Jasmin Bartolo- DILG Municipal Local Government Operations Officer,  Mario Flores, former councilor Jules Moncupa, and Alquin Manuel, and all Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) representatives who identified the construction project of an Evacuation Center for funding under the Bottom Up Budgeting Program (BUB).

 

BUB is a participatory grass root planning and budgeting tool of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) under which ₱2.5 M was allocated.

 

Municipal Administrator Rolly Rojas said the project will also serve as a multi-purpose hall that will cater to displaced disaster victims and the community as well by serving as a temporary shelter and a venue for different programs and activities of different government agencies and non-government organizations.

 

It can shelter 40 persons and can accommodate 80 individuals as an event venue.
