Comprehensive Tree Planting moved to June 25

BALANGA City, Bataan – The comprehensive tree planting activity, also tagged as “Bataan Green Legacy Program” previously scheduled on June 24, 2016 was moved to June 25, Mr. Victor Ubaldo, Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) Head, announced in a meeting conducted this morning at the Bulwagan ng Bayan, Capitol Compound, this City.

 

Mr. Ubaldo informed the participants who were mostly Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) department heads of the important dates to note in preparation for the big event.

 

On June 10, there will be a Team Leaders’ Meeting at 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to be held at the Bataan People’s Center. Also, there will be a first and second practice run on site that will be executed on June 17 and 22, respectively.

 

Moreover, Mr. Ubaldo laid down the areas of collaboration that will be subdivided among the offices of the PGB. Some of which are the procurement of materials/logistics c/o General Services Office, Accounting and Treasurer’s Office; coordination of vehicle support by the Provincial Governor’s Office; ambulant medical services c/o Provincial Health Office and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office; and many others.

 

He also stressed that pre-dug holes are no longer permitted according to the Guinness that is why each participant will be the one to dig holes during the one-hour tree-planting activity.

 

The Bataan Green Legacy Program is the province’s official attempt to break the current Guinness World Record on most number of trees planted in one single site within one hour which will be held at General Lim, Orion, Bataan; site will be at the 200 hectare Community Based Forest Management area of SAMAKALUGEN, Inc.
