A leader is a person who influences the group to follow the course of action he advocates. What qualities must a leader have?
Leadership traits consist of: persistence, dependability, self-confidence, popularity, good speech, and participation in the activities of the group. Possession of all these traits does not necessarily make one a leader. A person may be a leader in one group, but not in another. Selection of a leader depends on the personality of the individual and the nature and needs of the group.
Leadership qualities consist of a person with (1) impressive physique, (2) great energy, (3) easily predictable, (4) aloof from the masses, (5) not too far above the crowd, (6) who knows human motives, (7) who continues to unify his followers, and (8) who rewards and punishes wisely.
A leader must participate actively in the group, must be dependable, persistence, must be dependable, persistent, verbally facile, self-confident, and socially popular.
