Why is motivation important? It is important because it controls and directs one’s behavior. The behavior must be control for the common good of every individual and society. If a learner is not controlled he would eat junk foods all the time instead of nutritious foods. This practice would deprive him of good nutrition and may give him sickness. The thieves should be prevented from getting the things that does not belong to him for the safety of society. In this way, quarrels will be prevented and even wars.
Motivation is necessary in all aspects of life- in love life, in politics, in government, in business, in school, in home etc. For examples, the saleslady needs to motivate her prospective customers so that they will buy what products she is selling. The politician motivates the people so that they will vote for him. The businessman motivates the client to invest to his company. The employer needs also to motivate the employees so that they will work more efficiently.
The teacher needs to motivate their pupils to study hard so that they will succeed in life. Even the members of our family must be motivated as to their proper behavior. For human happiness it is necessary to control behavior otherwise it will bring unhappiness to his family. He may also feel unhappy.
To summarize, motivation is important for a) the control and direction of one’s behavior,
