Abucay broom makers get DTI’s SSF project

ABUCAY, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Bataan) recently launched another Shared Service Facility (SSF) project for the Mabatang Broom Makers and Vendors Association.

In a report from Tess Magtanong, DTI Bataan’s around P200,000 worth of machines, table and other raw materials were given to the group composed of more than 30 direct and indirect members.

The broom makers thanked DTI for the project. “This is a big help to our business especially the drilling machine. We use this for making holes to the brooms and will make our assembly line faster and easier,” a member said.

MSME Medium Small and Micro Enterprises Development (MSMED) is a key strategy to achieve the government’s goal of inclusive growth and jobs generation. A major component of the MSMED Program is SSF Project which aims to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs by providing them with machinery, equipment, tools, systems, skills and knowledge under a shared system.

The SSF Project is being implemented nationwide with project partners termed as Cooperators, which may be any juridical entity such as but not limited to non-government organizations, people’s organizations, cooperatives, industry/trade/business associations, local government units (LGUs), state universities/colleges technical vocational schools and other similar government and training institutions.
