Bataan police bares peaceful solution vs. drug addiction

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Police authorities here are readying a comprehensive approach toward a meaningful and peaceful solution to put an end to drug addiction.

Senior Superintendent Benjamin H. Silo, Jr., Bataan police director, stressed a doable joint project with city and municipal officials in formulating a definite program is now in progress, focused on emphasizing the importance of spiritual and moral human reformatory aspects and technical skills training for livelihood.

He cited the constructive responses coming from local executives led by Bataan Mayor’s League President, Mayor Maria Angela  S. Garcia of Dinalupihan  town who earmarked  funds for the rehabilitation of drug users and pushers  in preparation for their productive activities when they finally return to the mainstream of the society.

Silo, a lawyer, said the implementation of conclusive drug reformation procedure is essentially a collective undertaking by all sectors that would ultimately  guarantee prospective investors and foreign and local industrial firms of a remarkable peaceful atmosphere in Bataan, dubbed as the fastest emerging investment hub in Central Luzon, with seven (7) economic  and tourism enterprise zones .

He added the pro-active participation of the citizenry specially the local officials achievements in pursuing government social services and livelihood enhancement programs are critical mechanisms necessary in stopping crimes and drug problems in the province
