BALANGA CITY, Bataan- Mayor Francis S. Garcia is encouraging a more cohesive plan to stop drug addiction in this fast emerging commercial component city in Central Luzon.
City Mayor Garcia has requested Superintendent Joel K. Tampis, Balanga City police chief, to undertake a long-range reasonable program to all intents and purposes of neutralizing the hazard of prohibited drugs to the youth and prepare practical system with impressive effect to the future of younger generation.
The first–termer city mayor explained that the holding of the successful Barangay Week Program of Congressman Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll for nine (9) years have produced excellent results in the socio-economic developments in the countryside and the new administration should develop a spiritually guided procedure to foster closer family relations which would relatively reduce illegal drug problems.
He said the law-enforcement units headed by Superintendent Tampis, city and barangay officials, civic and religious groups and the entire city populace must come up with a widespread formula of preventing the entry of illegal drugs in their localities.
The wholly integrated action of all sectors in the community is necessary in the success of the anti-illegal drug campaign and in providing alternative activities to be able to withstand the evil temptation of drugs, Garcia added
