CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Head of the Provincial Information Office and Management Information Systems Office (PIO/MISO), Mr. Geoffrey C. Loyola was elected Chairman of the Bataan Integrity Circle during its organization meeting held last Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Diamond Room, Crown Royale Hotel, this City.
Said Integrity Circle (IC) is a multi-stakeholder dialogue platform and consultative body, established in the framework of the project “Partnership for Integrity and Job Creation (14J) between local governments and civil society.
The purpose of the establishment of the IC is to support the efforts of the local government units (LGUs) on poverty reducing investment promotion through the implementation of integrity and business promotion mechanisms.
The IC consists of up to 20 members, a maximum of 40% leading civil servants of the LGU appointed by the Local Chief Executive (LCE) of the LGU, about 30% representing the civil society in the LGU, including the religious sector, and 30% representing the business sector.
Also elected are the following Vice chairmen: Melchor Cui (LGU), Brian Joseph Banzon (Business Sector) and Floro Quicho (CSO). Secretariat is the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officer (LEIPO), Mr. Eduardo de Mesa from the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO).
Partnership for Integrity and Jobs (Project I4J) is a European Union (EU) co-funded project. The Implementing partners in the Philippines are Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), the Centrist Democracy Political Institute (CDPI), the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) , and the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP).
