CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – As part of NFA’s program to bring good quality and affordable rice to the public, National Food Authority Bataan, headed by Manager Adelaida C. Nuestro, joined the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Mobile Diskwento Caravan to sell NFA rice in areas affected by the monsoon rains (habagat) last month, August 2016.
In the first leg of the activity 32 barangays in the municipality of Dinalupihan were visited last September 6-9 to cater to the victims of monsoon rains that devastated the town, resulting to its declaration as under a state of calamity last August 18, 2016.
The caravan also visited nine (9) barangays in the municipality of Hermosa on September 14- 16, 2016. These barangays were the most affected by flooding. Hermosa was also declared as under a state of calamity last August 26, 2016.
The Diskwento Caravan is a continuing program of the DTI which aims to bring basic goods and commodities to the public at a discounted price, especially during times of calamities, to alleviate the difficulties experienced by victims.
The National Food Authority is always ready to participate in this meaningful cause.
