Orani conducts 1st education summit

ORANI, Bataan – The municipal government here led by mayor Efren “Bondjong” Pascual Jr. conducted its 1st educational summit running on a theme: “Edukasyong sukat ang galing, yaman ng bayan natin.”

Provincial board member and education committee chairman, Reynaldo Ibe, vice mayor Bong Galicia, municipal council committee on education chairman, councilor Em Roman, women’s committee chairperson councilor Maya Bongco, former board member Gaudencio Ferrer, DepEd Orani supervisor Francis Bautista, teachers, and GPTA (general parents and teachers associations) presidents from different public schools here were also present.

Mayor Pascual reported the latest standing of the municipality in terms of educational achievements, the municipal government’s locally sourced income, among others. He also discussed the recently crafted vision and mission of the present leadership here using the performance governance system (PGS).

Pascual also added that this education summit aims to improve the educational achievements of this town in the coming years under his term as the local chief executive.

Meanwhile, BM Ibe discussed the near future plans of the provincial government citing additional budget for the provincial school board’s programs and projects for 2017.

“This year’s special education fund (SEF) of the province costs 406 million pesos. Next year almost 600 million will be allotted by the province for the year 2017,” Ibe reported.

SEF is being used in school buildings construction and its repairs and maintenance, MOOE, other education related infrastructure projects, budget for trainings and seminars, teachers’ salaries, and sports development programs.

Mayor Pascual gave 10,000 pesos for each public school. The funds distributed came from the municipal government’s general fund.

Orani has 13 public elementary schools and 3 high schools.
