Mariveles gears for 72nd Liberation Day

MARIVELES, Bataan – This fast-rising industrial town is gearing for a spirited 72nd Liberation Day as its leaders headed by Mayor AJ Concepcion prepare a string of activities to delight local residents and visitors. 

The Liberation Day is also the town fiesta celebration of Mariveles. “Aside from usual activities already done in the past during the term of former mayor and father of the incumbent mayor, Jesse Concepcion like the Miss Mariveles, Ginang Buntis, and Chess Tournament, among others, there will be additional events this year”, said Councilor Tito Catipon.  

“There will be sectoral shows and banca race”, the councilor said. “The activities are scheduled every Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting February 3 and will culminate on the last Sunday of February, which is the Liberation Day”, he added.

Concepcion has conducted meetings with other local officials, municipal department heads, and sectoral leaders in preparation for the Liberation Day celebration.  

As in the past, local tourists are expected to witness this year’s Liberation Day activities.       

Mariveles hosts the Freeport Area of Bataan where manufacturers abound, and the location as well of beautiful beaches in its western side.
