Hermosa, a budding investment hub

BAGUIO CITY – Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton and his technical working group have presented their investment destination advantages particularly its location at the boundary of Bataan, Olongapo, Subic and Pampanga at the 2017 Luzon Economic Zone Summit held at the Prince Plaza Hotel here.

During the two-day event of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Inton highlighted the advantages of investing in his town saying particularly the site of Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park in Barangay Palihan which is just an hour and a half drive from Manila, 15 minutes from the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and 25 minutes from Clark Freeport Zone and Clark International Airport.

Mayor Jopet’s goals include promoting and increasing foreign and local investments, creating jobs, spread investments and development nationwide, enhance exports and minimize imports, the transfer of technology and fully utilize the economic potentials of the country.

PEZA Director General Charito Plaza assured that the Philippines’ fast growing economy and the brand of governance of the Duterte administration makes the Philippines the best place to invest in Asia.

Plaza added that the country also has an advantage in terms of labor force, given the high literacy rate of 94.6 percent. Filipino workers are proven hardworking and easier to train.

Aside from having good investment confidence rating from known international rating firm, the country also crafted investor – friendly policies and programs.

The Luzon Ecozone Summit was the third after Mindanao and Visayas. PEZA would soon be crafting the Philippine Economic Zone Map where they hope to include all potential land/areas for economic zones and all forms and types for promotion to new investors worldwide and to expansion projects of present industries in the country.
