Barangay Alas-asin JO employees to become SSS members

MARIVELES, Bataan – Job order (JO) employees of Barangay Alas-asin, this town are currently completing the documents to become Social Security System (SSS) members.

“We recently conducted an orientation for the JO employees of Alas-asin. They have 157 JO workers, and 111 of them are qualified to become SSS members”, said SSS Mariveles Branch Manager Jordan Herrera.

“Alas-asin Brgy. Captain Roberto Arcenal Sr. understands the importance of social security and he himself encouraged their JO employees to become SSS members”, he said. 

He also said a concerned individual Girlie Canlas raised the idea to Arcenal regarding the SSS membership. Herrera said SSS is working to expand its membership particularly among the informal sectors of the society.

In Bataan, tricycle operators and drivers, members of homeowners associations, some barangays, LGU job order employees, vendors, and inmates have become members of the social security through the diligent efforts of SSS Bataan officers.

SSS Mariveles Branch was recently a recipient of the highest 5 stars rating of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Seal of Excellence Award.

It was the first time for SSS Mariveles to receive the 5-star award under Herrera’s leadership who became a branch head 2 years ago.

The CSC Seal of Excellence Award aims to recognize government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performances.
